Status update & New single

 I have a problem...

Especially when it comes to memories, I'm a hoarder! I keep my musings, journals, pictures...and this blog!
Then I revisit them...and get sucked in only to re-emerge hours later (slightly exagerated for effect hehe).

I stopped writing on this platform because about this time last year, I started to use a new one.
But per chance, I accidently on purpose came back to this blog...for old time's sake haha!

Thank you reader. You reading this fulfills a need of mine. That of significance. Feeling that what I contribute is valued by someone else. I didn't think there would still be readership on here!

I must admit though, even on my new shiny blog I have been taking a bit of a break since February.

Work got in the way and time got scarce. Then money got scarce... Then I got restless, then paralysed.

Yes, I'm human.

But despite the madness, I have been creative.
I have recorded a new single that you can listen to here, if  you feel so inclined.

I have also been perusing my journal and it seems that music is an enduring passion of mine. Despite everyone -including myself- telling me that it can never be more than a hobby, it is still my dream to earn an income from it directly or not.

But it all comes down to time. Time spent perfecting the craft. Time spent learning about the business side of things. Time actually spent doing what works.

It's a journey.
And we're limited on how many journeys we can take at once. The more you take, the slower you will be.

Anyway.Thank again for reading, I have a feeling I will make an appearance again here, God willing.

PS: The single is called "Too Late" and should be out on iTunes on 25.05.15

Beatbox journey to the Caribbean - Part 2

As promised, this is PART DEUX.
Here you can catch a glimpse of what a beach is supposed to look like.
And as a bonus, my old school then my dubstep beatboxing. Apologies for the camera shakiness, it was amplified by Youtube (I used a "fix it" feature that was supposed to minimise it but in the end it made matters worse)

A little digression. I'm reconnecting with my INFP self and researching about it the modern way: via Youtube.
My first reaction is one of wonder - not surprising for an INFP. It's amazing how, no matter how different we look on the outside, however far apart we are, however different our culture may be, we are wired in similar ways. How odd for a french-Caribbean born  man like me to find that he totally relates to an American Youtuber girl (Called Roses of Sunshine3 ) and that even what she says about how SHE functions resonates so much with him?

Like I said, Amazing. I might make a video response one of these days..

Beatbox journey to the Caribbean - Part 1

Well, it's been a while but I'm back!

I've been to the Caribbean. That's always a time of introspection. I guess that's what happens when you go back to where you grew up after along while.
I've got a few videos documenting my trip in a very light fashion (beat boxing all throughout pretty much). Just uploaded the first one.
I might upload the deep soul searching monologue ones too....MIGHT!

New single out " Greater things"

What are you doing this glorious day? I've just done some jogging. Crazy huh? First time in absolute ages. No wonder I'm aching.
But you know, today reminds me of the day we recorded "Greater things". It was as hot and sunny as today, and I was as much of a nutter as I am today. here's proof: here's a video and here's the song

:)

Rudiano is now on Soundcloud!

You can check my cinematic tunes here, my proper Caribbean oldies there or my top 5 tunes over here.

At the moment of re-editing this, there's a bug on Soundcloud. If all easle fails, enter this address in your browser:

Yes, I composed and performed them all (sometimes with fellow artists).

Sit back (preferably in a hammock), relax (with glass of wine, liqueur...or rum - even better) and enjoy!

Everyday I'm DA-BUH-LING, dabbling, dabbling

It's been a while, life has been rather tumultuous and exciting at the same time. Lots of opportunities, choices to make...I need to be more than one Rudiano to do all I wanna do!
So for that reason I have no other choice than working on my writing projects unconsciously (by this I mean they are on the back burner) for now!
Just an update on the Summer hit in the making: it's going to be recorded at the end of this month, all being well.
I will post more about this later.
Why not listen to some music while you wait? :P
Here's a LINK to my 2006 album and ANOTHER of the video for one of the tracks.
If you like, you know what to do!

Quick update

I've been working on an album for two years. But the amount of time I could devote to the project was reduced because of my addiction to doing many things at the same time! But here it is. This saturday, I'm recording my single.... A bit nervous!!!Why? Cause firstly I haven't exactly rehearsed as much as I would like - I'm leaving some room for inspiration that the studio may trigger - and secondly, I'm not sure yet how I will get there as my car's fan belt has decided to snap yesterday...Oh that brings a third worry: how much will it cost me. Mmmmmhhhh. Don't care, I'm recording in a studio for the first time ever! I'll walk there with all my gear if I need to!
Yeah mon!

Nothing new under the sun….

When I was young, it was all about the Benjamins… Sorry, wrong “B”. It was all about B Boys… throwing windmills, beatboxing and rapping. Then that went out of fashion but now it’s back. Some other versions of break dance have emerged too (Boogaloo, popping, C walk, Krump)…but it’s pretty much the same family. Nothing groundbreakingly new…
Then music-wise, I grew up with Ragga, Dancehall, Rap, Zouk and Zouk love… Now it’s Reggaeton, Garage, Hip Hop, Kizomba, Cabo, Candy Zouk… But I do struggle to see any striking difference in the genres of yesteryear and today.

And of course, remixes themselves are rife. So many songs use old tunes. Rihanna’s SOS, Sean Kingston’s Beautiful Girls, JLS’ The club is alive come to mind...Hmmmm…All that was worth discovering has alreday been discovered it seems…Or has it? Could we still come up with a truly fresh yet uplifting musical genre? Can originality be commercially viable? Can sheer passion for good music reclaim the music industry??

Pfff....Too much thinking. Exhausted. Don't care. Need lie down.

Peace out

;P
